The nafsu figure or logo emerged from a question I kept returning to: if we didn't have a mind constantly narrating, judging, and identifying itself,
how would we move through the world?
The logo is a simple, almost childlike figure with two arms and two legs, but no face and no conventional head. In its place sits a circular halo, symbolizing light, awareness, and consciousness. By removing the face, the figure becomes less about an individual identity and more about a shared human experience.
The decision was also influenced by Islamic artistic traditions, which generally avoid depicting human faces and figures in a realistic way. I wanted to create a symbol that felt aligned with those values while remaining playful, open, and contemporary.
To me, the figure represents the space between desire and awareness. The part of us that can observe our impulses rather than be completely driven by them.
